We investigated the impact of repeated runner removal after harvest and row cover during fall on strawberry (Fragaria × ananassa) cvs. Polka Wendy cropping potential in joint project University Helsinki Rural Advisory Services Finland. Field trials were carried out 2017 to 2019 farms Southern Ostrobothnia, Finland, at 62°49′N. The treatment effects crown carbohydrate reserves, flowering, yield recorded. Runner three times three-week intervals decreased starch reserves but increased length apical inflorescence initials as observed through flower mapping November, numbers inflorescences flowers cv. Polka. Floating induction September October hastened floral development inflorescences, flowers, fruit Wendy. Although may depend a cultivar weather conditions fall, runners covering plants with floating are recommended increase Northern climate.
